Jun 12: Apex industry body ASSOCHAM has sent a 50-member strong delegation representing Indian defence industry for participation in Eurosatory 2018, one of world’s largest aerospace and defence show being held in Paris between June 11-15.
“The Indian contingent highlights India’s capabilities in terms of defence manufacturing and it is expected to interact with the official delegations of about 30 countries which would lead to meaningful joint ventures and MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) between domestic and global defence companies,” said ASSOCHAM president, Mr Sandeep Jajodia.
Tata Advanced Materials, Bharat Forge Ltd, MKU Ltd, SMPP Ltd, Vihan Networks Ltd, Texmaco Defence Systems Private Ltd, Max Aerospace & Aviation Private Ltd, Tonbo Imaging India Private Ltd are some of the key companies that are part of ASSOCHAM delegation at Eurosatory, the world’s leading international land and air defence and security exhibition.
Some of these companies have bagged significant business contracts be it getting substantial order for new bulletproof jackets from Indian Defence Ministry or receiving a $100 million contract with Peruvian Army for manufacturing and exporting night vision sights for armies weapon.
Mr R.R. Thakur, OSD & Director-Offsets, Ministry of Defence, Government of India would make a presentation on ‘Defence Offset: India Opportunity,’ at the five-day event on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 12 noon.
“We at ASSOCHAM expect significant number of potential buyers to visit India Pavilion during five days of the mega show, with many business enquiries being generated which would be materialized into orders in the near future,” said ASSOCHAM’s secretary general, Mr D.S. Rawat.
