July 2: Earlier this year, HMD Global had launched its high- end Nokia 8 Sirocco. Though you cannot call it a 2018 flagship, it features a premium design and brilliant specifications, the possessor used is last year’s Snapdragon 835. From Nokia 1 to Nokia 7 Plus, the company had launched some great phones but none of these marked the level of a flagship product. The latest news is that the company is planning to launch its flagship device which is internally named as Nokia A1 Plus.

As per reports, HMD is developing a high-end Nokia smartphone. The phone, which is internally called the Nokia A1, might probably be launched as Nokia 9. The last launched device of HMD was Nokia 8. Apart from the premium trimmings of 2018 the phone will flaunt an in- display fingerprint sensor.

The news is that the in- display fingerprint sensor will be similar to what was seen on the Vivo X21 UD. The Finnish mobile phone company had faced some complications to make the under display fingerprint sensor reliable and fast.

But it seems that the company found a solution for this problem. For making the fingerprint sensor more reliable the smartphone maker has had made use of a thinner glass cover on top of the display. With this one can conclude that OLED display, which is expected to be supplied by LG display, is used in the Nokia A1 Plus.

The upcoming product will run on Snapdragon 845 chip with a peak clock speed of 2.8 GHz. Details regarding the RAM and storage options of the phone is not yet revealed. There is news that the camera of the upcoming smartphone, Nokia A1 Plus or Nokia 9, plays an important role. But the company has disclosed that there are various difficulties to overcome and they also addressed the camera as a ‘high risk’.

As to when the Nokia A1 Plus will see the light of day, nothing is concrete. HMD initially hoped for a mid-2018 launch, but thanks to some development issues, we could see the flagship sometime during the second half of 2018, possibly in August or September. The report adds that HMD could showcase the phone at IFA 2018 in Berlin.

The details regarding the launch of the smartphone is not yet out. The company was to launch the device in mid-2018, but they have extended the dates due to some development issues. There are also reports that the phone will be unveiled at the IFA 2018, which is to be held in Berlin from August 31 – September 5.
