Nov 12: Though the South Korean giant Samsung and various other companies still working on the foldable phone, the device has been made a reality by FlexPai. The FlexPai device sports a 7.8 screen with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Apart from this, the device will be the first to house 7nm Snapdragon 8150.

The AMOLED screen can be folded in the middle. When folded the device’s software, dubbed Water OS, switches in such a way that only half of the device is to be used. The other half which is unused displays the wallpaper.

The user can decide on which half of the device should be used. When one half will have a slightly more screen the other half is next to the dual camera. The dual camera setup can be used for capturing selfies and making video calls. The phone comes with 16+20MP camera sensors. A telephoto lens is integrated into the second camera module.

The thickness of the FlexPai is 7.6mm. When folded it is 15.2mm thick as it does not fold flat. The fold comes near the hinge and the hinge is said to estimate to being folded 200,000 times.

The 7nm Qualcomm chipset which powers the phone is paired with the Snapdragon 8150. It comes with a 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. There are other variants of 8/256 and 8/512GB. The Ro-Charge fast charging support in the phone can charge up to 80% within an hour. The phone will be made available at a starting price of CNY 9,000 .
