Kerala Flood: Kerala Tourism Comes Up with Stronger Together Theme in Social Media

Tourism industry in Kerala would be the worst affected by the Kerala Floods with some countries already issuing advisories to travellers to avoid God’s Own Country.

However, rescue operations are in full swing in the flood devastated state with incessant rains continuing for the past ten days. Kerala Tourism has effectively used its FaceBook and Twitter pages to convey the strength and resilience of the people in dealing with the unprecedented natural calamity the first in this century.

“The boats that brave the sea will now be saving lives in urban areas. A big shout out to all our seafarers for this timely help” The tweet praising the efforts of fishermen who came to rescue thousands of stranded families said.

The tweets and FB posts thanked the volunteers, officials and all those who spared their energy and effort into rescue operations.

Meanwhile, Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Chief Minister is also reaching out to people through FB and Twitter. Chief Minister has directed all government employees in Thiruvananthapuram to work on Sunday. All government vehicles and employees should be deployed for flood relief work.
