Sep 12: Holding aloft a range of issues such as shortage of staff, real recovery of NPAs, withdrawal of FRDI Bill, increase of service charges of public, and compensation of demonetization, bank employees would organize a March to Parliament on September 15 in a bid to seek government intervention to find solution to these issues.
A report quoting Deepak Kumar Sharma, general secretary of SBI Officers Association, Chandigarh Circle, said, that the association has also taken up issues of SBI, such as merger of associate banks, with the government.
According to the association, there have been issues regarding placement of officers, relocation of offices and structural changes following the merger, as the number of branches and new regional offices have gone up.
With all these coming up as major concerns, the banking sector staff would organize a strong protest in the next two of months, he was quoted as saying.
According to the association, following the all-India strike on August 22 this year, the officers and workmen in the banking industry have given a call for ‘March to Parliament’ on September 15, 2017.
