Feb 16: Leading e-commerce player Amazon is expanding its Amazon Pay service with Amazon Pay UPI. The company has partnered with the Axis Bank in this regard.
With this, the company would allow its customers to add their bank account to the Amazon application. Amazon Pay UPI will be a direct payment option for the Amazon.in users. Services like recharge and bill payments possible in the other UPI applications such as PhonePay, Paytm are also offered by Amazon Pay.
The advantage of the new service is that the payment on Amazon.in becomes easier than ever. Steps like redirecting to the UPI applications, entering card number CVV numbers, and internet banking details and especially the wait for OTP will become history with the new service, said a report.
The only thing required for payment via Amazon Pay UPI is a fixed UPI pin. The transaction will be completed with the entry of the pin.
In 2018, Amazon had made an announcement that the company is accepting payments via UPI for payments of Rs 10,000 and less. The reports are that the standard UPI daily limit for Amazon Pay UPI is Rs 1,00,000. The will allow the users to make payments for products like mobiles, furniture, and consumer electronics with the help of the new service.
Initially, the service will be offered on Android devices and later on it will be extended to the iOS devices.
