Jan 3: Indian Oil Corporation, India’s largest petroleum company, has kick started home delivery of fuel. The announcement was made a few months back, and has now been rolled out.
The service which began from Pune, Maharashtra, followed by other cities is named Doorstep Delivery of Fuel. A report says that the delivery services are being made available in Chennai also.
The dispenser which looks similar to the regular fuel dispenser at petrol pumps will distribute fuel in a regular way through the fuel stored in the tanker. Here the unique service is limited to diesel. This will be an advantage for the commercial vehicles. When it comes to the owners, this will save time and money.
The delivery system will also benefit the people in the rural areas who have to travel a large distance to find fuel. This will also be useful when it comes to an emergency situation. In order to order the fuel one has to be made through a mobile application.
A minimum of 200 liters fuel order can be made via through the application. For orders above 2,500Â litres, the customers should have PESO license for storage.
Indian Oil has chosen diesel for the service now as it poses less danger when compared to the highly combustible petrol. As safety precautions, the safety cones and fire extinguishers are also made available in the fuel dispenser.
