Air India Set to Tide Over Financial Woes by Improving Services

Jan 2: Air India has been regularly making it to the headlines owing to its financial woes. However, the airline isn’t not letting things go out of control. Going by reports, Air India is set to develop its services and enhance its domestic and international routes. Addressing the employees through a New Year message, he asked them to work hand in hand with commitment and passion to steer the Indian air carrier to new heights.

An ample financial package for Air India which has a debt of over Rs 55,000 crore is included in the revival plan listed by the Indian government.

Pradeep Singh Kharola, chairman and managing director of Air India, has been quoted by news reports as saying that, at present, Air though India is facing a difficult situation in the financial segment, the company is trying its best to improve its activities. The Air India chief also said it has rolled out measures to improve its services and escalate domestic and international networks.

The Civil Aviation Ministry told the Lok Sabha last week that a revival plan for AI which offers a complete financial package, distinguished strategies for each of the airline’s core businesses and vigorous organizational reforms were rolled out by the government. Suresh Prabhu, Civil Aviation Minister, had recently disclosed that via a global search process, the carrier is to select professionals for top positions at Air India.

There are various actions taken to revive the company which is surviving the bailout package extended by the previous government. The company is moving ahead with the monetization of real estate assets. The strategic disinvestment of the airline did not become successful in 2018.
