Nov 1: Public sector hospitality major India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has handed over its iconic Hotel Janpath in Delhi to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The company said in a regulatory filing that the handing over of the 4.41-acre land that houses Hotel Janpath, New Delhi, to Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs was done through the exchange of documents on October 31.
Reports quoting ITDC said that the hospitality PSU would hand over physical possession of the property to the ministry as soon as it disposes of the movable assets.
The move came after the Union government had given the go ahead to close down Hotel Janpath and had over the property for setting up government offices. The Union Cabinet had then said that the property may be transferred to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
