Jan 5: Airline company IndiGo Airlines was at the receiving end of some sharp criticism, with the Parliamentary standing committee on transport, tourism, and culture lambasting the attitude of the airline player’s staff of late.
In the report that was tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, the case of Indigo was cited as an example for bad staff behaviour. The committee said the attitude of the airline’s staff was very condescending, often uncooperative and on many occasions, downright rude.
Calling upon airlines to put an end to such bad behaviour of the employees, the committee members suggested implementation of soft skills training of the employees across airlines. The committee stated that intensive training needs to be provided to the crew and staff so that they would learn to be courteous and decent while dealing with passengers.
The committee also showed its displeasure over instances of manhandling, discourteous and rude behaviour by the staffers of various airlines.
The report aimed at addressing issues related to improving airline customer satisfaction, also noted the issue of exorbitant airfares charged during the festive seasons, holiday seasons, natural disasters, and political and social unrest.
