Thomas Cook India Strengthens East Indian Presence with New Outlet in Jharkhand

Feb 9: Thomas Cook (India) Ltd, India’s leading integrated travel and travel related financial services company, on Friday said that it has strengthened its presence in East India with its first new ‘Gold Circle Partner’ franchise outlet at Ranchi (Jharkand).

“This expansion augments Thomas Cook India’s distribution network to 3 consumer access centers (2 branches and 1 Gold Circle Partner/franchise outlet) in Jharkand and a total of 17 consumer access centers (10 branches and 7 Gold Circle Partner/franchise outlets) in East India,” the company said.

The Thomas Cook Gold Circle Partner programme is an exclusive franchise partner initiative that increases the brand’s presence-reach across the country, giving consumers access to the company’s products & services in metros/mini metros and strongly emerging Tier 2 & 3 markets.

The new Gold Circle Partner outlet in Ranchi offers consumers end-to-end travel solutions with a bouquet of travel and travel related financial services, including international & domestic holidays (group tours, personalised holidays, cruises, etc.) and travel insurance, according to the company.

Commenting on the development, Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head, Leisure Travel & MICE, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd, said, “the East market has been identified as a prime growth driver and has delivered strong growth of 30% YoY for our Leisure Travel business. Ranchi offers us significant potential and we have hence selected our new outlet in Ranchi’s prime locality of Maple Plaza-a renowned Mall near Ashok Nagar which is an affluent residential area providing us with a viable catchment of consumers across families, business travellers and senior citizens.”

Shares of the company were trading in red at Rs 236.80, down 0.40% from the previous closing of Rs 237.75, on BSE at 1.04 pm today.
