Tata Nexon Now a Consumer Favourite; Surpasses Ford EcoSport in Sales

July 7: Tata’s Nexon, launched in September last year, has become the first option for customers in the sub-4-meter compact SUV segment. In a month, Tata sold an average of 4,500 units and thus has become the company’s best-selling SUV.

Sales of 13,173 units were recorded for its latest Tata Nexon in three months of the financial year 2018-19. The numbers goes like this, 4148 units in April 2018, 4717 units in May 2018 and 4308 units in June 2018.

Meanwhile, rival Ford EcoSport sold 13,138 units. And the numbers for the sale of Ecosport stands at 4128, 5003 and 4007 for the three months. In the first quarter of this financial year, Nexon’s sale stands higher by 38 units when compared to the sold unit of EcoSport.

Though Nexon stands higher compared with the EcoSport, the car leading this group is Maruti Vitara Brezza. The monthly sales of Vitara Brezza are three times when compared to Nexon. Sale of 37,160 units of Maruti Vitara Brezza is marked for the first quarter of the fiscal 2018-2019.

When asked for the most powerful car available in this segment, which come in both petrol and diesel option, Tata’s Nexon is the one that the auto world look up on. Manual and AMT automatic options are available in both engine variants. Maruti Vitara Brezza, which comes only in diesel engine variant, is offered with the AMT option. Ford EcoSport is available in both petrol and diesel option.

Nexon has proved to be a game-changer for Tata Motors. Its growing sales have helped Tata Motors to register overall sales increase in the passenger vehicle segment. Thanks to their new cars Nexon, Tigor and Tiago, which now have a combined sale of more than 2.35 lakh units; Tata Motors has posted a staggering 63% growth in the month of June 2018.

Tata is grabbing the attention of the auto world through Nexon. With the launch of the car, Tata motors were able to increase its overall sales in the passenger vehicle segment. Tata’s newly launched Nexon, Tigor and Tiago have a combined sale of 2.35 units.

Tata is soon to launch its H5X and H7X SUVs. There are reports that both the cars are taken for test in Leh Ladakh region for testing its off road capabilities. The 5 seater H5X is likely to be launched in the second half of 2018 or in the first half of 2019. The 7 seater H7X is expected to be launched in 2019.Tata’s sales will boost with the launch of its upcoming SUVs.
