June 5: Tata Motors is looking to create a buzz for its slow-selling Tigor model by launching a special edition of the compact sedan, and it will be called the Tata Tigor Buzz. A set of pictures of the upcoming special edition has now been leaked that gives us further glimpses of the model alongside providing the confirmation for its imminent arrival.
As indicated by the pictures, the Tigor Buzz will differ from the standard variant with its sporty look, thanks to the blacked out roof and outside rear-view mirror casing. Red highlights will be featured along the grille and on the wheel cover. Similar red highlights will also be present on the AC vents inside.
The picture reveals that the Tigor Buzz will be void of a touch-screen infotainment system, and that’s a hint that the Buzz would be based on the mid XM model rather than on the top end. The exterior will also have the Buzz logo imprinted on the rear along with the Tigor logo.
The heart of the vehicle remains unchanged, as Tigor Buzz is said to be featuring the same 1.2-litre petrol engine with 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel variant will also have the same 1.05-litre engine with five-speed manual gearbox. The petrol edition is likely to be available also with AMT gearbox.
The petrol edition of Tigor Buzz will deliver an output power of 84bhp and 114Nm torque, while the diesel variant will be capable of delivering 70bhp power and 140Nm torque.
With the launch of Buzz edition, Tata will be eyeing to give a push to the sales of Tigor, which has been witnessing a downfall in the demand with the arrival of newer rivals in the market. Pricing can be expected to be slightly above the standard variant of Tigor, which is priced at Rs 6.17 lakh for petrol and Rs 7.27 lakh for diesel.
