Jun 25: W-Locate, a Singapore-based Internet of Things (IoT) start-up, has selected Tata Communications, a leading global digital infrastructure provider, to accelerate its international growth.
According to the Tata Group firm, WLocate provides real-time location-based information to enterprises across Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Malaysia. It is now looking to extend its presence to South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and other Asian countries by harnessing Tata Communications’ IoT and private cloud computing capabilities.
Commenting on the development, Stevie Ooi, Founder and CEO, W-Locate, said, “we’re a fast-moving start-up, and we want to work with likeminded businesses to accelerate our growth. The Tata Communications MOVE platform helps us do just that, and offer borderless connectivity to our customers in new markets. We estimate that working with a single global IoT partner like Tata Communications will help reduce our capex by 35% while giving us the agility we need to stay ahead in this constantly changing industry.”
Shares of Tata Communications were trading at Rs 603.10, up 0.33% from the previous closing of Rs 601.10, on BSE at 9.47 am today.
