Feb 6: Shalby Hospitals, (Shalby Ltd), one of the fastest growing multi-specialty tertiary care hospitals chain with leadership in Total Knee Replacement (TKR), on Tuesday announced launch of a new Radiotherapy Centre at its recently commissioned Naroda Shalby Hospital for the treatment of cancer patients. Naroda Shalby is the fourth multi-specialty hospital of the group in the city of Ahmedabad.
“The Department of Oncology & Oncosurgery at Shalby Naroda has commissioned its Radiotherapy Centre equipped with Varian Trilogy Radiotherapy machine with FFF technology, the first of its kind in Gujarat on February 4, 2018, coinciding World Cancer Day. This latest model of Linear Accelerator with Flattening Filter Free (FFF) beam technology provides flexibility to clinicians to deliver conventional therapies to treat a wide range of tumors throughout the body. It also enables treatment of highly complex cancer types that require extreme targeting precision,” the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the development, Dr Nilay Brahmachari, Chief Operating Officer at Shalby Naroda said, “with a large set up of OPDs and 14 modern Operation Theatres, the hospital has started catering to patients from across the geographies. This radiation center is the first private centre of its kind in the entire Eastern Ahmedabad. With Varian Trilogy incorporating FFF Technology, we have better grip and command to fight cancer, very effectively. Our Oncology department with its comprehensive cancer care, under one roof, will be a boon to needy cancer patients in this part of the city and its drainage area.”
Shares of Shalby Ltd closed trading in red at Rs 233.05, down 0.43% from the previous closing of Rs 234.05, on BSE today.
