Nov 21: It’s been 8 years since the launch of the famous Range Rover Evoque. The time has come for the British luxury car maker to come up with the second generation of the car. The company has outed the teaser for the upcoming car in a form of a wire sculpture.
Reports suggest that the world premiere of the car will happen on November 22. In Europe, the bookings for the 2019 Range Rover Evoque will also begin on the same day. Even though it been 8 eight years, the car has a contemporary look and it does not have any dramatic aesthetic changes.
Land Rover has said that the new Evoque will set new standards when it comes to design capability and sustainability. The tight-fitting roof, sleek headlamps, and taillights, and a fastback-like rear remain standard. But some of the changes resemble the features of the companies Velar.
As per the released photos, the car will house LED headlamps with signature DRLs, a slightly larger grille with new detailing and a new bumper in the front. The rear is also likely to look similar. The resemblance to Velar is seen more in the interior of the car. The dual displays are seen on the center console. The instrument panel seen in its predecessor is also seen. The premium compact is likely to come with a set of new features and an upgraded infotainment system.
The news is that the second generation Range Rover Evoque will be based on the upgraded version of the D8 architecture with a longer wheelbase. This will provide more interior space, especially in the rear. Prior to the electrification of the company’s models from 2020, the company’s new platform will adhere to mild-hybrid technology.
At first, the second generation Range Rover Evoque’s powertrain will consist of Ingenium range of 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and diesel engines paired with automatic transmission. It is reported that the power output of the car will range from 148 to 296 PS. The launch of the 2019 Range Rover Evoque in India is likely to begin after few months of the international launch.
