June 7: Electronics behemoth Samsung has announced two new laptops – Notebook 7 and Notebook 7 Force. The laptops which look similar to Apple’s MacBook Pro notebooks will work on Windows 10. According to Samsung, Notebook 7 is for everyday use and the Notebook 7 Pro comes with high-end specifications useful for content creators.
The new laptops come with diamond-cut edges and displays with tiny bezels. The company has made it clear that, initially the laptop will be marketed in South Korea and Hong Kong. Later it will be offered in the US and Brazil. Whether the laptop will be marketed in India is still not clear.
The Notebook 7 will be offered in both 13-inch and 15-inch full-HD display options. The 15-inch Notebook 7 comes with an additional SSD slot using which you can add storage. The 8th generation Intel Core processors with up to 16GB RAM powers both the laptops. The storage option available for the laptop is 512GB SSD (NVMe). The devices also, support Gigabit Wi-Fi.
Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support are also seen in the Notebook 7 laptops. A single USB Type-C, two USB 3.0, one microSD card slot, and a single HDMI port are the ports offer on the laptop.
In the US, Notebook 7 will be sold at a starting price tag $999. The sales for the laptop will begin on July 26 via Amazon and Samsung’s online store.
The Notebook 7 Force laptops are offered only in 15- inch display size. The Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card featured in the laptop offers up to 70 percent faster speed when compared to the last-generation GTX card. Ports including USB Type-C, USB 3.0, HDMI 2.0, and a microSD card reader are offered in the laptop.
The 8th generation Intel Core processors that power Notebook 7 Force is paired with Ram of 24GB. For storage the laptop has 512GB SSD. It offers slots to expand storage. A wide touchpad similar to the one seen in MacBook Pro notebooks is featured in both Notebook 7 and Notebook 7 Force laptops. With a price tag of $1,499, the laptop will be initially available in China and the US later this year.
