May 3: South Korean phone maker Samsung’s latest models Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ have officially arrived. The USP of the new Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ are its design and camera features. Both the smartphone models are available in Black, Gold, Blue, and Lavender colors. The initial launch of the handset will happen in May in selected European, Asian and Latin American markets. It will further be released in South Korean, African and Chinese market.
Super AMOLED Infinity Displays found in Samsung Galaxy S, Note and A8 series will be common for both A6 and A6+. A 6.0 inch full HD + display will be part of Galaxy A6+, which is larger compared with the 5.6 inch HD + panel in Galaxy A6.
Both the phones will run Android 8.0 Oreo OS. Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ will sport octa-core 1.6GHz and octa-core 1.8GHz SoC, respectively. Internal storage for both the phones will be 3GB RAM +32GB and can be supported by microSD cards of up to 256GB. Bixby, Bixby Vision, Home and Reminder will remain standard in both the handsets.
Camera in both the phones has been placed as the USP. A single 16 megapixel autofocus rear sensor with f/1.7 aperture will be seen in the model Galaxy A6. While a 16-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture will be seen in Galaxy A6+.
The front camera for both the handsets comes at an aperture of f/1.9. Galaxy A6 will sport a front camera of 16 megapixels while Galaxy A6+ will sport a 24 megapixel front sensor.
A battery of 3000mAh will power Galaxy A6 when Galaxy A6+ takes a step ahead with a battery of 3500mAh. Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), Cat 6 LTE, HT40, Bluetooth 4.2 (LE up to 1Mbps), ANT+, USB Type-B, NFC, and GPS will be the connectivity options offered in Galaxy A6 series. Apart from this the phone will also be equipped with fingerprint sensor, face recognition, Dolby Atmos speakers and Samsung Pay.
The phones which are available for pre orders hint at a price of around Rs 24,750 for Galaxy A6 and Rs 29, 500 for Galaxy A6+.
