March 11: Rolls Royce, UK, has chosen India’s second largest IT company Infosys as its strategic long-term partner to provide engineering and digital services.
As per the partnership, the IT major will offer engineering and digital solutions for Rolls-Royce to fulfill their customer’s needs for viable energy.
The $11-billion outsourcing firm has experience in delivering programmes in aero and land-based gas turbines spanning component development, next-generation manufacturing technologies, service engineering, support, testing, and validation services. The net worth of Infosys is $11 billion.
Reports said that with the use of engineering and digital services, Infosys will back Rolls Royce to increase its productivity and bring out products with novel technologies. They added that Infosys will also be investing in a UK-based company to guide it in the transformation journey.
Rolls Royce, with the engagement with Infosys, would intend to stay unique in the engineering and digital domain. The UK based Rolls Royce has customers in around 150 countries spread across the world. The customers include 400 airlines and leasing companies, 160 armed forces, 4,000 marine customers. In 2018, Rolls-Royce had invested 1.4 billion pounds on research and development.
