June 11: Xiaomi has launched its Mi Y2, and two variants of the smartphone will go exclusive on Amazon India and Mi Online Store India on June 12th. In order to attract more customers, the company had availed the smartphone with numerous offers.
A discount of Rs 500 is available for the payment via ICICI bank cards (terms and conditions will be applied). Airtel customers will be given cash back of Rs 1800, they will also be given a free data of up to 240GB. Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is priced Rs 9,999 for 32 GB variant while the 64GB variant comes at a price of Rs 12,999.
The handset which comes with a 5.99 inch 1440x 720 HD+ resolution display at 18:9 aspect ratio is powered by 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. The peak brightness of the smartphone is very high and it will be very easy to use the phone outdoors. The processor used in the phone is an octa- core operating at 2.0 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU. This handset will be available in two models; one will feature 3GB RAM + 32GB storage while the other will come with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The microSD card slot will allow you to expand the storage up to 256 GB.
The smartphone flaunts a dual camera set up with 12+ 5MP sensors. The camera is positioned same as that of Mi MIX 2S, iPhone X and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Users will be able to capture images with bokeh effect using the software. The camera which uses AI to beautify the images is equipped to capture HDR images. The company states that the AI, beautifying feature of the camera is tuned for India as it will be able to recognize objects including nose pins, bindi etc. The front camera of 16 MP is accompanied by soft LED flash which will make it easy to click selfies in low light. A fingerprint sensor to lock the phone is placed at the rear.
The phone gets a battery of 3080mAh capacity with 10W charging support. The MIUI 9.5 user interface in the phone has various features including app lock, customized calendar, second space, dual-apps and messaging applications for India. 5GB of free storage will also be available for the phone. There are possibilities that this may be upgrades to MIUI 10 user interface which pose better performance.
Connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802/11 a/b/g/n standard, with Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS, microUSB 2.0 charging port, IR blaster, and 4G VoLTE are seen in the smartphone.
