Dec 17: Textile major Raymond Ltd on Sunday said that the company has inaugurated a Greenfield Linen manufacturing facility in the newly created Textile Park in Nandgaon Peth, Amravati (Maharashtra), under its subsidiary Raymond Luxury Cottons Ltd.
According to the company, in phase 1 of the industrial development initiative, the facility is expected to produce 1,200 tons of world class Linen yarns and 4.8 million meters of Linen and blended fabrics per annum. It is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for 800 people, it said.
Speaking on the occasion, Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, Raymond Group, said “this first manufacturing facility here in Amravati is a symbol of pride for us. Truly inspired by the ‘Make in India’ initiative and Maharashtra’s endeavor to develop Vidarbha region, it has been setup in record time. With seven plants already operational in Maharashtra, two in and around Vidarbha region, (Yavatmal and Chhindwara), Raymond has always been at the forefront of Maharashtra’s industrial development. This greenfield facility in Amravati, along with a planned school and residential complex is yet another step in furthering our contribution to Vidarbha’s overall development.”
Meanwhile, the company also announced that it has laid a foundation stone for establishing an education, sports and residential project for the socio-economic development of Amravati industrial area.
Commenting on the successful commissioning of phase 1 of the industrial development initiative in Amravati, SK Gupta, President (Corporate), Raymond Ltd, said, “developing this new facility in Amravati in a record period of time, demonstrates our commitment towards the country’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Our school and residential project here will contribute significantly to the holistic development of this region.”
