Jan 8: Patanjali Ayurved, the FMCG giant that has had a dream run in the Indian consumer marketplace during the past years, has now lined up partnership plans with eight leading e-tailers. The move comes as an attempt to push sales of its products the online way.
In its bid to push online sales of its swadeshi products range, the company helmed by yoga guru Ramdev is likely to ink partnership deals with online retailers of the likes of Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, 1MG, Bigbasket, Grofers, Shopclues and Snapdeal. This would mean that the Patanjali Ayurved FMCG product range would now be seen doing the sales rounds at major e-tailer windows.
Going by news reports, Ramdev and Patanjali Managing Director Acharya Balakrishna will meet with representatives of these online companies on January 16 and the final decision will be taken at this meeting.
Reports quoting Patanjali top honchos said that the upcoming deals would be a game changer in the FMCG marketplace and the partnerships will add to the presence that the company’s own online platform enjoys at the moment.
Though the Patanjali product range is currently available on e-tailer platforms even now, the deals would bring in more of a systematic way of operations for the company. Patanjali Ayurved, which had posted turnover to the tune of Rs. 10,500 crore in 2016-17, is looking to register a two-fold growth this financial year.
