June 9: An ‘Open Ears’ event is to be conducted by Shenzhen based Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus, in India on July 7. The event, which will focus on assisting the Chinese handset maker in understanding remarks about its products among the users, will have around 30 participants from the company.
‘Open Ears’, earlier held in San Francisco focused on software aimed at uplifting OxygenOS. The upcoming ‘Open Ears’ in India will concentrate on the hardware of OnePlus, thereby focusing on the products.
As per a post by Joel Jacob, India Community Specialist, OnePlus, through the forum the company can bring in a change which comes from within the core community. The company aims to give a personal experience for their customers.
In order to collect the reviews and suggestions of the users, the firm intends to bring the users under a single forum. Neither the venue nor the reason for such an event in India is revealed by the company.
The company is rolling out Open Ears India soon after the launch of their product OnePlus 6 which flaunts 6GB RAM and 64 GB storage, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage options at the price Rs34,999. Apart from this the company also launched the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition priced Rs 44,999 with 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The last sale of the device occurred earlier this week.
Pete Lau, founder and CEO of OnePLus, pointing out their motto ‘Never Settle’ said that they are always keen to improve themselves. Stating that the users have a crucial role in the new launches of the company, he has been quoted as saying that this is the reason why the company wants to interact directly with the users in India. He boasted that OnePlus is not a company which runs behind trends and nor do they take short term decisions to create a smartphone. Each of their product focus on the needs of the customers.
Application for the event is open online and the registration link will close on July 12 at 11:59 PM. Formal invitation details for the event will be sent to the applicants by Jule 15. Free travel and accommodation facilities will be made available to the selected applicants.
