June 10: As you might be aware, Nokia showed off its Nokia 2.2 at the HMD Global event in India on June 6. Latest reports are that the phone details were leaked on the internet prior to the launch. As per the leaks, the phone comes a waterdrop-style display notch and will have Google Android One branding. The leak reveals a device similar to the one seen in the teasers published by HMD Global.
Earlier, the upcoming phone codenamed Nokia Wasp was seen on the US FCC certification site. With a model number TA-1183, the phone is given a BIS certification. The phone features a dedicated Google Assistant button, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a notification light.
Famous tipster, Evan Blass, through his Twitter account @evleaks has posted a render about the phone . The render states that the phone will come with vanilla Android Pie experience out-of-the-box. Future Android updates are also offered for the phone.
At the rear, the phone shows off a single camera sensor with an LED flash. A Nokia logo is also seen on the top of the glass-like glossy panel.
In the teasers released by the company, the phone features an option similar to Night Mode that will offer low-light photography experience.
Nokia 2.2, the successor of Nokia 2.1 which was launched in May 2018 at a price of Rs 4,999, will be priced Rs 7000. The Nokia 2.1 was initially launched in India at a price of Rs 6,999 but was later offered for a discounted amount of Rs. 5,499.
At the launch event, together with Nokia 2.2, Nokia also launched Nokia 6.2 aka Nokia X71 and Nokia 9 PureView.
