June 11: It is rumored that Maruti Suzuki is all set to fortify its Zen brand with a sub-compact SUV, positioned below the Vitara Brezza. There are reports that the sub- compact SUV might be the assembly version of Concept Future-S. The Concept Future-S was exposed at this year’s Auto Expo held in February.
The company’s concept Future- S, which is to flaunt a novel design, was built in India. The upright front facia of the car comes with a white accent around the grille and headlamps. The front bumper of the car is made attractive with a silver scuff plate and twin vents on both sides with white surrounds. The white frame is also seen with the front windshield. The pillar-less doors featured in the car is accompanied by a sloping roofline which ends with a raked rear windshield.
The twin-U shaped light with white highlights, at the back resembles the one placed in the front. The back bumper which comes with a large silver skid plate looks rotund. The white highlight used in the car is an add-on to the design. The cream colored interior comes with orange accents. The sub compact SUV also flaunts a 3- spoke steering wheel finished in orange. A circular infotainment screen is placed at the center of the black center console.
Technical details regarding the Concept Future-S /Zen is not yet revealed by Maruti but there are rumors taking rounds that the car will be based on the HEARTECT platforms that is used in the new swift. The might be powered with a full electric powertrain or by a hybrid powertrain accompanied by a 1.2 litre K series petrol engine or a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine.
