July 4: Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is about to get a major upgrade with the second-gen variant. And with that, the MPV is also being promoted to Nexa brand of vehicles. With that said, the new-gen Ertiga will be retailed only through Nexa showrooms and not under the regular network of Maruti Suzuki dealers.
With the entry of Ertiga, Nexa will have five cars under the branding. The list includes S-Cross, Baleno, Ciaz, and Ignis. Nexa also retails the Baleno RS and Ciaz S edition in addition to the aforesaid. Buyers of the second-gen Ertiga will get access to all the premium services offered under the Nexa branding.
Ertiga’s new variant made its debut in Indonesia earlier this year. The new Ertiga features a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that will replace the 1.3-litre engine from Fiat being used in the current variant. The new engine will be paired with 6-speed manual gearbox.
The upgrade will also be featured in the petrol variant of Ertiga, which will have a new 1.5-litre engine with mild-hybrid SHVS tech that featured in Ciaz. The technology will also be featured in the diesel edition, making the new Ertiga both powerful and greener.
Featuring the Heartect platform from Suzuki, the new Ertiga will also measure slightly more than the current Ertiga in all dimensions. Maruti is also expected to bring in some features from the Swift and Dzire in the interiors to up the vehicle into premium Nexa category.
