Oct 4: A new smartphone featuring quad cameras would be next on Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo’s launch schedule. Going by a teaser posted by none other than Chang Cheng, Vice president at Lenovo, on Weibo, a prominent social network in China, a quad camera device is in the pipeline.
A square-shaped structure holds the quad camera without an LED flash and an extra sensor. The square shaped structure shown resembles the one seen in the upcoming Huawei handset Mate 20 Pro.
Even though the exact date for the launch of the phone has not been revealed, the poster hints that the mysterious phone will be launched soon. The quad camera set up at the rear is the only detail available on the phone.
It may also be wise to know that Chang Cheng has often misled the consumers with his posts earlier. He had once guaranteed a true bezel-less smartphone in the form of Z5. But when the phone rolled out it was nothing like what he had elaborated on – the device was not bezel-less at all. The teaser was misleading due to which Lenovo had to face a lot of trouble.
The latest news is that there are other companies apart from Lenovo working on quad cameras. South Korean smartphone giant Samsung is said to be gearing up with an A- series handset featuring quad cameras. The phone which is likely to be named Galaxy A9s is expected to be launched at an event on October 11.
Lenovo had launched a bezel-less phone – Z5 Pro – on October 1 at an event in China. The phone resembles Honor Magic 2, which was announced to be launched in October.
