Nov 1: Hyundai is set to launch its second-generation Creta SUV in India and other markets throughout the world in the year 2020. The upcoming car is expected to be larger than the model sold presently.

Render images of the seven-seater car with three rows of seats have surfaced online. The South Korean automaker’s 2020 Creta’s images reveal that the upcoming car is inspired by the company’s 2018 SUV Santa Fe. The cascading grille and LED daytime running LEDs are the main attractions of the car in the front, said a report.

The projector headlamps in the car bumper resemble the one seen in the Tata’s upcoming vehicle Harrier. Recently many car companies are seen following the trend of bumpers with headlamps in their SUVs.

The upcoming car might have a longer body than the earlier one as it houses 7 seats. It might also be wider and taller than its predecessor. But the tail lamp section in the back of the new car resembles the one in current Creta.

The dual exhaust tips and the sporty bumper in the new car give it a unique look. Another feature which is likely to be offered in the second generation Hyundai Creta is a panoramic sunroof at the top. This means that the upcoming car will have better and more features to offer.

The car will house new sets of engines developed by Hyundai and Kia. The petrol and diesel engines are expected to be of 1.5-liter units. The newly developed engines will primarily be seen in Kia’s compact SUV. The SUV will be launched in India in the second half of 2019.

The Hyundai Verna Sedan facelift, which is to be launched before Creta, will also house the newly developed engine. The full hybrid and electric variants of the car will also be marketed. It is based on such a platform which is suitable for the car.

When it comes to the pricing and positioning of the car, the car might come with a starting price of Rs 10 lakhs. It is expected to rival Mahindra’s XUV500.
