Nov 2: In order to meet global regulation targets, the South Korean carmaker, Hyundai Motor Co and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp are set to market solar charging technology for some of its vehicles. The announcement was made by the company.
As per the company statement, the solar panels for charging will be placed either on the roof or on the hood of the vehicle.
Solar charging setups for vehicles including hybrid and battery electric will be launched by the companies.
Various countries are now aiming to cut down the carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions. This has put the carmakers and truck makers under inspection.
The first generation of solar charging technology for Hyundai vehicles will be launched next year.
