March 6: We had been hearing a lot of rumors on the entry of the HR-V into the India market. However, there have been no official announcements regarding this. The latest we hear is that Honda is set to unveil its SUV that will rival Hyundai’s Creta at the Auto Expo 2020. Rumors are that the upcoming SUV might be the HR-V.
Honda had unveiled its CR-V and Civic at the last edition of the Indian Auto Expo. The company is set to launch its tenth generation Civic on March 7. The car will feature a diesel engine for the first time and it will also feature various new ones including Electronic Parking Brake with Brake Hold, Lane Watch and the like.
After its domestic launch, Honda HR-V is expected to join its predecessors soon. The upcoming HR-V is wholly equipped to rival the cars including the currently marketed cars Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and a set of upcoming models like Kia SP2i, Skoda Kamiq, Tata Blackbird and others.
In markets like Japan, the HR-V or Vezel features an exterior that shows off a sporty bumper with its brand logo positioned at the center on a big chrome bar. The LED headlights are given a glossy profile. The overall design of the car is completed by the large fog. With large body panels and horizontal tail lamps, the company continues to carry the company’s newest international design language.
As per BSVI standard, the car can house a 141PS 1.8-litre petrol and 120 PS 1.6-liters turbocharge diesel which is seen in both Civic and CR-V. The car is likely to house offer six-speed manual and CVT automatic with paddle shifters for transmission options. The length of the car is 4,294 mm with width 1,772 mm. The height of the car with 2,610 mm wheelbase is 1,605 mm.
Apart from these, Honda is seen focusing on the safety features and offers a new range of premium features for the same. The ex-showroom price of the car is likely to range between Rs. 12 lakh and Rs. 16 lakh.
