April 6: Software services firm HCL Technologies has acquired customer engagement service provider C3i Solutions in a deal worth US$60 million.
The move is expected to fuel the consumer services of HCL in addition to helping it achieve growth in life sciences, said news reports. HCL will acquire 100 per cent stock of Telerx Marketing, the operator of C3i Solutions through its step down subsidiary HCL America Inc.
C3i Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Merch & Co, offers multi-channel customer engagement services for life sciences and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries. The expertise of the company in clinical and pharma sales support will be made use by HCL for its life sciences customers in addition to offering services to IT and business stakeholders.
Confirming the acquisition, HCL Technologies said in its statement that the additional depth of C3i in the life sciences and CPG verticals will complement the company’s broad-based IT and business services capability.
HCL Technologies President and CEO C Vijayakumar has been quoted as saying that the capabilities of C3i provide HCL with an innovative and complementary services portfolio. He also added that vast customer base of C3i would help HCL strengthen its position among technology solutions providers to consumer industries and life sciences.
