Mar 20: GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL), an industry leader in developing supercritical steam generation technology, on Tuesday said that it has been awarded a contract worth approximately Rs 309 crore ($47.50 million) by NTPC Ltd.
According to the company, the order is to install its Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system at phase-I (2×800 MW) for NTPC’s Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) in Telengana.
Headquartered in Noida, GE Power India Ltd, formerly ALSTOM India Ltd, is engaged in the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and servicing of power plants and power equipment. The company is also engaged in the manufacture of steam generators. The company operates through power segment.
Shares of the company surged more than 5% and touched a new one-month high of Rs 859.95 intraday today on BSE after the news came in. The Rs 10 face value shares closed trading at Rs 850.05, up 4.59% from the previous closing of Rs 812.75.
