Jul 4: The first batch of students have passed out from Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) in Mehsana, Gujarat. The Institute was set up in collaboration with the Government of Japan and India to create a pool of 30,000 skilled manpower for manufacturing in India. By imparting skill education to the youth, JIM, Ganpat Vidyanagar, Mehsana supports the Make in India and Skill India initiative of Government of India.
Certficicate of Course completion for skills in Japanese Manufacturing Practices and Processes were awarded to 254 students of the first batch. Maruti Suzuki has invested Rs 6 cr for setting up the institute and is part of Maruti Suzuki’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for skill development.
The certificates were awarded by Mr. Ryoji Noda, Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO and Mr. A K Tomer, Executive Director, Maruti Suzuki India Limited along with Dr. M S Sharma, Director General, Ganpat University. Representatives from METI, AOTS, Japan and Ganpat University graced the special occasion
