March 23: Kerala-based Educational Technology startup company, Doubtbox will receive an undisclosed amount as strategic investment from Brand Capital, a Times Group Media House company. Doubtbox is a learning platform that promised to make children learn effortlessly and easily.
Founded by the promoters of eTutor, a path-breaking digital content repository, Doubtbox had enrolled half a million school students over the past decade.
The fresh funds infusion from Brand Capital is expected to help Doubtbox, to compete with other players especially Byju’s and Toppr Learning. Said to be around Rs 50 crore, the fresh funding comes as a shot in the arm for Doubtbox, which has been steadily climbing up the popularity ladder.
It has been estimated that the online education sector in India would grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 52 percent, to $1.96 billion, by 2021.
The Multiple Intelligence learning model touted by Dobtbox is seen as offering a different learning experience for the students of Class 1-12. Students would be able to revise lessons they already learn at school, with Doubtbox’s interactive digital multimedia content. Doubtbox has around 8000 animated topics for the Class 1st -12th which covers entire CBSE and ICSE syllabus, said a news report.
Doubtbox has been selected as one of India’s fast-growing Education Technology startup (Ed Start Member) of the year 2018 by Amazon Web Services.
