Nov 13: Cocoon Fertility, India’s leading IVF (In Vitreo Fertilisation) chain is expanding its operations by setting up three new centres. The first of them will be operational in November in Kochi, Dr Anagha Karkhanis, Director of Cocoon Fertility and Dr Rajalaxmi Walavalkar, IVF Specialist said.
The Kochi facility will have all the state-of-the-art facilities as in other Cocoon Fertility centres in Mumbai such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Embryo Freezing (Vitrification) and Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), PISCI (Physiological Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection), Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI).
Rajalaxmi Walavalkar said that the treatment quality provided in India IVF centres are no way inferior to the treatment available in advanced nations and is available at a much cheaper cost. In USA, an IVF treatment may cost upto $30000 which can be done in India for $6000-8000.
Started in 2013 in Thane, Cocoon Fertility has centres in Dadar, Santacruz, Andheri, Versova and two centres in Pune. New centres are coming up in Vashi and Pune apart from the November launch of Kochi facility, Rajalaxmi Walavalkar said.
The IVF market has recorded a compounded annual growth rate of 18% in the last decade. The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 20% thus 260,000 cycles are estimated for the year 2020.
