April 30: Apple users in India were eagerly waiting for the launch of RED Editions of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The special edition iPhones are now available in India and is available on Flipkart for pre-order. The RED edition is also available at authorized Apple resellers. The price for the device remains the same.
The RED Edition of iPhone 8 comes in two variants, where one will have 64GB and the other with 256GB storage space. Out of them, the former will be priced at Rs 67,940 and the later will be priced at Rs 81,500 in the Indian market. In India iPhone 8 Plus RED Edition which comes with 64GB is priced Rs 81,500 and the variant which comes with 256GB will cost Rs 91,110.
Both the phones run on iOS 11 and are powered by Apple’s native A11 Bionic chipset. While iPhone 8 sports a 4.7 inch Retina HD display, iPhone 8 Plus has a Retina HD display of 5.5 inch. iPhone 8 feature a rear camera of 8MP with 5x digital zoom. A 12MP telephoto and a wide- angle lens are featured in iPhone 8Plus. Quad-LED True Tone flash in the rear and a 7MP camera with HD video recording capacity in the front will be seen similar in both the phones. They are also built with fast charging technology.
As a part of the global partnership with RED, a global advocacy group dedicated to combating HIV/AIDS in Africa, Apple had introduced the RED Editions of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in the first half of April. The phone was initially launched in the US, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore. The second launch of the RED editions is being made in countries like Denmark, Brazil, Ireland, Italy, Colombia, Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Russia South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Mexico, Switzerland, Malaysia, Turkey, Taiwan, UAE and Thailand, along with India.
