April 9: The world’s leading e-commerce giant Amazon’s new initiative Project Kuiper will offer internet access by building a network of around 3000 satellites.

The news was revealed via statements given out by the International Telecommunication Union in March.

According to Amazon, the new initiative will provide services to those throughout the world that are left aloof from the broadband internet. In order to provide low- latency and high-speed data connectivity, the company will launch a constellation of low earth orbit satellites.

Jeff Bezos, CEO at Amazon is said to have plans to elevate Blue Origin, his private space company from its startup mode. He intends to begin production at the plant soon.
